DMK01: Optimus Prime (Dark of the Moon version)

Took weeks to assemble this Prime (Due to my working life). With added assistance from my bro, this is the most challenging piece to assemble. Mega-articulated; the foot alone has 4+ articulations, movable and posable fingers and most important of all, easy to pose.

The joints didn't give me much difficulties to crank up different poses but still, it's a delicate and fragile (parts sometimes may pop off, the fingers especially).

And also be warned, some of the parts (especially the small parts) might come loose easily. We had to use cement for model kits (from Tamiya, thanks) to glue in the loose parts, especially on the upper side (torso).

Other than that, a great model kit to have. A must to all Transformers fans everywhere.

Testing here and there. Going to different locations (much to my dismay and a cruel coincidence, those locations are used for couples snogging sites) and came out with this prototype. Angle's all wrong because viewers (myself included) can't see Blue's stuck arm...

In another news, I'm still waiting for my ordered Crysis 2 action figures; one is Alcatraz and other is Nomad, both are Nanosuit 2 and Nanosuit 1 respectively. Can wait for them. Speaking of Crysis 2, I spend the whole week playing through (graphics tweaking included) and it. Was. Awesome. By just looking at the intro makes my spine shiver and pumped up, ready and eager to play:

Lastly, for so long I have been waiting and searching for it, REVOLTECH finally released another product line of DANBOARD from Yotsuba&! manga series, this time it's "well done" version. Managed to booked it since it's limited...

This is by far the longest update I've ever typed.

With Noble Five / Jorge collected, I can begin brainstorming for their role in my miniature world. Frankly saying the figures are good in terms of design, details and articulation although some restricts the free-flow movement due to their bulky state and details.

Other than that, Well done. Hope to collect more on Halo series.

P/s: My mistake of choosing a red backdrop. Doesn't fit well in the light....

Been a year since this project started. Yep, now the next challenge is, in fact, to search for more ideas and inspiration for this project.

Not just for the miniature project, but my time lapse and light arts project. Much to be done here people. Buying miniature stuffs is not that easy too. Sometimes, I brought miniature equipment at the wrong size (sometimes too big, sometimes too small)

Now, I not just limiting to Star Wars and Lego toys but branching to GI Joe toys and Iron Man series. Maybe more.

And there we go, continuing the journey, diversifying art in the process

Outings

My first initial idea was the urban theme, but the jungle theme came first so I had just to do it and what you see above is the result of my first outing with them. I plan to move further to outing than just confined to my house.

So for my further plan, I wish to create something out of the ordinary, preferably something improvised out of used materials (hint: ghille suit). So for now, brainstorm some good and original ideas, if I have thought about it....

For "something", it always had its beginnings

Band of Plastic Troopers was a small time project, which this small but puny idea came to realization on January 18th, 2010. And this picture is the spark of everything miniature.

Within almost a year, this small time project evolved to something more meaningful and fun at the same time: I get to buy these toys and at the same time, relived some of my childhood memories' fragments.

The figure pool grew over the months and I started to mix and mash toys nowadays, not just limited to Star Wars series

Future development? Increase more toys and hopefully with a new camera in the next 4 months, all will be green; fully. For now, you can follow my link by clicking here
